What Being a Foodie Means to Me

I don't just love food , I A-D-O-R-E food (and by "food," I'm not talking about dine-and-dash kinds of dishes. I'm talking about flavorful, healthy, let's-sit-around-and-graze-for-hours kind of food). I adore food for many reasons, but the reason that makes it to the tippy-top of my list is that good food, accompanied by great people, makes for incredible memories. As a matter of fact, the vibrant centerpiece in many of my favorite memories is food. Food serves as a medium to create conversation, conjure up laughs, and rekindle cozy bonds with friends and family.  On top of giving way to all those fantastic things, food provides us with energy, unconditionally gives us with the comfort we need at the end of a chaotic day, and makes us smile from ear-to-ear with enjoyment.

While I am an avid fan of enjoying food, I am just as big a fan of creating food. I love exploring new recipes, returning to old favorites, and creating some of my own, personal "masterpieces." And by masterpieces, I mean concoctions that are sometimes delicious and sometimes disastrous. However, it's all about the experience, the happiness, and the solitude it brings to my life. After all, this is what being a foodie is all about.

I could not agree more! Food and the dinner table is what keeps family and friends together. It is something you look forward to all day. It is an outlet for stress, an opportunity to discover, and above all... fun! I look forward to more posts!
