This glowing green mango & kale smoothie is a plant-powered force to be reckoned with...
Vitamin-packed baby kale.
Silky + vibrant mango.
A hearty splash of cold almond milk.
Sweet medjool dates.
Creamy almond butter.
United in a blender and whipped into a mighty green breakfast force.
You can even add a swirl of chlorella if you're feeling extra fancy (or swampy). What do you think, does the chlorella swirl teeter into swampy-looking-smoothie territory? While editing these photos, I kept asking myself that question. If it does, then feel free to limit your creativity to the straight and narrow topping path. Goji berries, almond butter, etc. tend to be reliably-safe toppings.
I'll probably stick with almond butter going forward because it's a good excuse to eat more of the stuff. And a day with more almond butter is a good day indeed.
And a day started with this smoothie has a little extra *glow* to it.

I definitely agree about the almond butter (or any nut butter for that matter!) "a day with more almond butter is a good day indeed." This should be the quote of the day! Whenever I make mango smoothies, i usually go the more tropical route with coconut as my healthy fat but I will have to try this next time!

i saw the swirl before reading the post and thought "what an awesome looking piece"... so not swampy at all... but i am a totally biased chlorella lover to my core. xo

I have never tried chlorella before but it definitely does not look swampy and actually makes me want to try it rather than stay away from it. I love the smoothie recipe all round and can't wait to try it but rather than the almond butter I might try this new brand I found in my local store of Coconut and Almond Butter, since I bought it I just keep trying to find an excuse to eat it!

Phew! Glad the chlorella is enticing rather than swampy looking. I love the idea of using a blend of coconut and almond butter; that sounds fantastic. I hope you enjoy this smoothie, Mercedes!
